Child give-away

October 29th, 2007 by admin

This is from ZDNet news.
Sometime around the spring of 2005, a homeless single mother in Oakland, Calif., posted an advertisement on Craigslist trying to give away her 3-year-old daughter.

This woman also gave birth to another child and tried to give that one to a neighbor. She even gave the neighbor a notarized letter.

Esperanza seemed to be at her wits’ end at the time. Elizabeth House staff recalled that she would yell and scream at the toddler, ignore A.J. for lengthy periods of time, and talk of getting rid of A.J. and heading to Italy. Esperanza’s grandmother, Nona W., was worried enough to repeatedly call the Department of Children and Family Services in Alameda County (which includes Oakland), to no avail.

After a judge eventually awarded custody of both children to their great aunt, Kathy W., Esperanza tried to get them back by claiming the evidence against her was insufficient and that the children were part Blackfeet Indian and, therefore, the Indian Child Welfare Act applied (the Blackfeet tribe says there’s no known relation).

I know a woman who is a druggie. She has five children by four or five fathers and a history of neglecting them. She has lost custody of at least three of her children and yet the state says they must treat each child as an individual case.

Once again our lawmakers have proven their complete and utter incompetence.

SEX

October 27th, 2007 by admin

These from The Register.
Housekeeping discovered the act when he didn’t answer the door and they entered with a master key.

Depute fiscal Gail Davidson told the court: “They knocked on the door several times and there was no reply. They used a master key to unlock the door and they then observed the accused wearing only a white T-shirt, naked from the waist down. The accused was holding the bike and moving his hips back and forth as if to simulate sex.”

The 20-year-old Wisconsin man last year charged with having sex with a dead deer has been sentenced to probation and evaluation as a sex offender, Yahoo! reports.

Bryan James Hathaway was cuffed on a “a misdemeanour charge of sexual gratification with an animal”. The court case raised some interesting legal issues, since according to the defence, the relevant “crimes against sexual morality” statute prohibits sex with animals, but fails to mention carcasses.

Hathaway had previously been convicted of a related offence in April 2005, when he pleaded “no contest to one felony charge of mistreatment of an animal for the shooting death of Bambrick, a 26-year-old horse, to have sex with the animal”.

A Sudanese goat-fancier has been forced to walk down the aisle with his four-legged victim after the animal’s owner caught him in flagrante delicto, the Juba Post via Ananova reports.

The goat’s owner, Mr Alifi, described how he heard a noise outside his house and rushed out to find one Mr Tombe going at his hammer-and-tongs with the unfortunate beast.

A quick consultation with the local elders led to a radical judgement, Alifi said: “They said I should not take him to the police, but rather let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife.”

A man is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of having sex with a goat. He was spotted by passengers on a packed train which stopped at signals opposite an allotment.

Stephen Hall, a 23-year-old chef, “lassoed” the goat with his belt and – then rammed it. Horrified commuters used their mobile phones to contact the police. OK, so there’s not much in the way of an IT angle here, but some stories need writing.

A senior British Transport policeman commented that he didn’t think the nanny goat was too upset by the ordeal but added that it is “difficult to tell”. Goats are like that. Never can tell what they’re thinking.

Jury Acquits Florida Woman of Child Abuse Over Daughter’s Genital Piercing

October 26th, 2007 by admin

FOXNews.com - Jury Acquits Florida Woman of Child Abuse Over Daughter’s Genital Piercing - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News
The woman got a friend to hold a thirteen year old daughter down while she pierced the girls genitals so sex would be uncomfortable, and this was after they shaved the girls head.
Evidently the girl was having sex with a number of males, including the mother’s boyfriend…. Three guesses why mom was pissed.

There is a warrant out for the boyfriend, undoubtedly for statutory rape.
The friend got a year in jail.
Mom got off scott free. —–The defense said the girl volunteered to regain her mothers trust.

If there was no crime, why is the friend in jail?

AP: Sexual misconduct plagues US schools - Yahoo News

AP: Sexual misconduct plagues US schools - Yahoo News
In case after case the AP examined, accusations of inappropriate behavior were dismissed. One girl in Mansfield, Ohio, complained about a sexual assault by teacher Donald Coots and got expelled. It was only when a second girl, years later, brought a similar complaint against the same teacher that he was punished.
And that second girl also was ostracized by the school community and ultimately left town.

Its a dynamic so common it has its own nicknames — “passing the trash” or the “mobile molester.”

The schools, meaning the administrators and board members, fear lawsuits, for “allowing” it to happen.
Bad publicity will get the Principle fired for “allowing” it to happen.
And so on, to the point that it is better to actually “allow” it to happen, —Somewhere else.

I understand that there are sometimes false accusations and such things can be difficult to prove. But shouldn’t somebody be looking out for the children?

Thais arrest paedophile suspect

October 19th, 2007 by admin

BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Thais arrest paedophile suspect
Police tracked down 32-year-old teacher Christopher Paul Neil in north-east Thailand. They suspect him of appearing in 200 online images of child abuse.

I saw one of the original pictures in which he had swirled his face to disguise himself. And I read something about how Interpol reversed it.
With the underground network these people seem to have developed, you would think that somebody would have told him how to properly disguise himself.

Locally, the police have a pedophile, Chester “Chet” Arthur Stiles, in custody. He video taped himself having sex with a three year old, about four years ago.

After giving it some thought I have come to the conclusion, that while I may vaguely understand the physical urges to commit what I consider to be completely repugnant acts.
I will never truly understand why a person would post pictures for the world to see.

I imagine it’s a way to belong, or to convince yourself that other people are doing it, so it must be ok.
But, it would seem to me that self preservation would keep you in the shadows, and not leave you shouting from the rooftops about what flavor of perv you are.

Marriage

October 14th, 2007 by admin

A friend is getting married today and it is destined to fail.

He is 39 and domineering.
His future ex-wife is an illegal immigrant from Mexico, who is under 20, with very little self esteem, who is pregnant for the first time.

He claims she was a virgin when they met, and this child is his.
But he has been talking about marriage and children from their first date. —His biological clock is ticking, desperation has set in, and even if this child were born black with kinky black hair, he would swear it was his.

The story he tells about her changes almost hourly depending on the person he’s speaking to.
He swears that she entered this country legally and that her ID just expired…… She told one of women he works with that she snuck in through TJ and bought her ID on this side of the border.
I’ve seen her ID…. If she paid more than $100 she was ripped off.

Come January the rules change, proper IDs will be required and illegals will have a much harder time getting a marriage license here…… We won’t discuss the ramifications of everything being reported to DHS.
No wonder they were in such a rush.

Both of them are under the impression that because he is white, and an American citizen, getting her a green card once they are married will be a snap.

Her family thinks that he is old and sickly (he has epilepsy), and he honestly believes that they think he’s wonderful. After all, he’s the first real man in that family….. Idiot.

Barring a change in the rules, there is no green card in her immediate future.
There is push on to force employers to check social security numbers. This will preclude her working as anything but some sort of domestic.
He works for a small company that will never pay what he thinks he’s worth.
In spite of his braggadocio, he has no formal education or qualifications in his field, no one has offered him another job, and he is making about as much as he ever will…. She will discover this.
There is a baby coming, a second car is needed, and he is incapable of managing his own money.
Beyond sex there seems to be very little actual affection between them.
He wants a family and she wants a green card, this is all they seem to have in common.

Given these cold hard facts and unless she grows up and takes charge the stress will kill any relationship.

Gates plays down report Marines want Iraq exit | Reuters

“I have heard that they were beginning to think about that and that’s all that I’ve heard. I’ve seen no plan, no one’s come to me with any proposals about it,” Gates told reporters in London after meeting his British counterpart, Des Browne.

Translation:
I’m just here as a place-holder, until the next administration replaces me with somebody real.
So nobody tells me anything.

Jury penalises music file-sharer

October 5th, 2007 by admin

BBC NEWS | Technology | Jury penalises music file-sharer

This woman was found guilty and is subject to a $200k penalty.
They even found a user name she used in other online transactions, on Kazaa.
This was proof positive that she was guilty… There couldn’t possibly be anyone else in the entire universe using the same name.

In proving liability, the industry did not have to demonstrate that the defendant’s computer had a file-sharing program installed at the time that they inspected her hard drive. And the RIAA did not have to show that the defendant was at the keyboard when RIAA investigators accessed Thomas’ share folder.

Also, the judge in the case ruled that jurors may find copyright infringement liability against somebody solely for sharing files on the internet. The RIAA did not have to prove that others downloaded the files. That was a big bone of contention that U.S. District Judge Michael Davis settled in favor of the industry.

The bad guys, I mean plaintiffs, had a great deal of circumstantial evidence but no hard evidence.

This is the first case that has gone to court, and whether or not she was guilty, the settlement was absurdly out of line.

In light of the fact that there are now several copyright attorneys willing to take this case pro-bono. It is a good bet that the RIAA is going to lose in the next round.
